Widely tunable terahertz (THz) -wave generation using difference frequency generation (DFG) in an organic N-Benzyl-2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (BNA) crystal was demonstrated. An organic nonlinear optical (NLO) BNA crystal is one of the promising materials for efficient and strong THz-wave generation because of its potential to have a sufficiently large enough second-order optical nonlinearity. Large and high quality single crystals of BNA (¦µ8¡Á30mm) were successfully grown by a vertical Bridgman method. The NLO coefficient d33 of BNA crystal is about 230pm/V. It is the largest value reported for any yellow-colored NLO materials. BNA has low refractive index dispersion between the optical and THz-wave region, therefore the colinear phase matching condition of the Type0 configuration is satisfied by using 0.7?1¦Ìm band pump wavelength. So, we developed a near-IR dual-wavelength pump source for BNA-DFG. Two KTiOPO4 (KTP) crystals were mounted on galvano scanners inside a double-pass optical parametric oscillator (OPO). It is pumped using a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser (532 nm, 8 ns, 100 Hz). The signal wave of the KTP-OPO output was controlled independently and rapidly using a galvano scanner. We successfully generated THz-wave using organic BNA crystal. The THz-wave generation range is from 0.1 to 15THz, while the pumping dual-wavelength is controlled in the 0.8-0.9¦Ìm range.

Using damping materials is an effective measure to control vibration and noise, which is widely used. However, it is relatively difficult for polymer damping materials to find a balance between damping and mech. properties. Herein, a polyurethane is designed containing dynamic disulfide bonds and hydrogen bonds of different strength to address the dilemma. The polyurethane is endowed with good damping and mech. properties (effective damping temperature range of 117¡ãC and a tensile strength of 14.98 ¡À 0.50 MPa). The mol. dynamics were studied by combining dynamic mech. anal. (DMA) and broadband dielec. relaxation spectroscopy (BDRS). The microphase separation morphol. and degrees of separation were used to help explain mol. dynamics. The segmental motion of soft phase becomes difficult in the glass-transition temperature (Tg) and faster in a high temperature with increasing 2,2′-dithiodibenzoic acid (DTSA) contents. These results explain the mechanism improving damping performance and provide some references for designing damping materials in the future.

A nickel-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction between perfluoroarenes and two mols. of a 1,3-diene in the presence of an alkyl Grignard reagent, which acted as a hydride source, provided 3-perfluoroarylated-1,7-octadienes via 1,3-diene dimerization and subsequent perfluoroarylation upon C-F bond cleavage. The reaction proceeded smoothly in a regioselective manner by simply combining NiCl2 and PPh3 as a catalyst and tolerated various functional groups on the perfluoroarenes. When substituted perfluoroarenes were employed, the reaction selectively occurred at the para-position. Mechanistic studies revealed that an anionic Ni complex, generated upon the reaction of Ni(0) with two mols. of a 1,3-diene and an alkyl Grignard reagent, played an important role in the C-C bond forming step with perfluoroarenes. The C-F bond cleavage was found to be a relatively fast step in the catalytic cycle.

Pd-catalyzed aerobic dehydrogenative cross-coupling of polyfluoroarenes with thiophenes via 2-fold C-H functionalization. E.g., reaction of pentafluorobenzene with 1-(thiophen-2-yl)ethanone in the presence of 5 mol% Pd(OAc)2/Ag2O and 1 atm of O2 with 0.4 equivalent of pivalic acid in DMF/DMSO at 120¡ã to give an 81% yield of 1-(5-(perfluorophenyl)thiophen-2-yl)ethanone. The advantages of this reaction are its high reaction efficiency, excellent functional group compatibility, and use of mol. O2 as terminal oxidant. This reaction provides a useful and facile protocol for the preparation of polyfluoroarene-thiophene structure of interest in functional materials. Mechanistic studies revealed that the reaction is initiated by the C-H bond cleavage of polyfluoroarenes.

Lv, Qian published the artcileTotal Aqueous Synthesis of Au@Cu2-xS Core-Shell Nanoparticles for In Vitro and In Vivo SERS/PA Imaging-Guided Photothermal Cancer Therapy, Name: 5,9-Diaminobenzo[a]phenoxazin-7-ium acetate, the publication is Advanced Healthcare Materials (2019), 8(2), n/a, database is CAplus and MEDLINE.

Both accurate tumor navigation and nanostructures with high photothermal (PT) conversion efficiency are important but remain challenging to achieve in current biomedical applications. This study reports an anion exchange-based facile and green approach for synthesizing Au@Cu2-xS core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) in an aqueous system. In addition to the PT effect of the suggested NPs, the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is also significantly improved due to the tailored localized surface plasmon resonance coupling between the Au metal core and the Cu2-xS semiconductor shell. Using an epitaxial strategy, Au@Cu2O NPs are first obtained by the in situ reduction of cupric hydroxide on a cresyl violet acetate-coated Au core; then, Au@Cu2-xS NPs are obtained via anion exchange between the S2- and Cu2O shell. Both the Cu/S at. ratio and the Cu2-xS shell thickness can be adjusted conveniently. Hence, the ideal integration of the plasmonic Au core and Cu2-xS shell into a single unit is conducive not only to highly efficient PT conversion but also to the construction of a SERS-based navigator. This new type of SERS-guided NP, with enhanced photoacoustic signals, is an important candidate for both accurate tumor navigation and nondestructive PT treatment guided in vivo by two modes of optical imaging.

Suitably functionalized carboxylic acids undergo a previously unknown photoredox reaction when irradiated with UVA in the presence of maleimide. Maleimide was found to synergistically act as a radical generating photoxidant and as a radical acceptor, negating the need for an extrinsic photoredox catalyst. Modest to excellent yields of the product chromenopyrroledione, thiochromenopyrroledione and pyrroloquinolinedione derivatives were obtained in thirteen preparative photolyses. In situ NMR spectroscopy was used to study each reaction. Reactant decay and product build-up were monitored, enabling reaction profiles to be plotted. A plausible mechanism, whereby photo-excited maleimide acts as an oxidant to generate a radical ion pair, has been postulated and is supported by UV/Vis. spectroscopy and DFT computations. The radical-cation reactive intermediates were also characterized in solution by EPR spectroscopy.

Marine Environmental Research published new progress about 6217-54-5. 6217-54-5 belongs to catalysis-chemistry, auxiliary class Alkenyl,Carboxylic acid,Aliphatic hydrocarbon chain,Metabolic Enzyme,RAR/RXR,Natural product, name is Docosahexaenoic Acid, and the molecular formula is C22H32O2, Recommanded Product: Docosahexaenoic Acid.

Sardenne, Fany published the artcileChanges in lipid and fatty acid contents of gonad during the reproductive cycle of the Mediterranean swordfish Xiphias gladius, Recommanded Product: Docosahexaenoic Acid, the publication is Marine Environmental Research (2022), 105668, database is CAplus and MEDLINE.

Swordfish Xiphias gladius is a large pelagic fish distributed worldwide and exploited for human consumption, however there is limited knowledge about its reproductive biol., especially regarding lipid dynamic in gonads. In teleost fish, reproductive success and offspring survival are associated to lipid availability for gamete synthesis. This study investigated the lipid composition, including lipid classes and fatty acids (FA) of cell membrane and reserve lipids (i.e., polar and neutral lipids, resp.; PL and NL), along female and male gonad development of a swordfish population from waters surrounding Corsica Island in the Mediterranean Sea. Overall, swordfish gonads contained <2% wet weight of total lipids, with testes and ovaries having similar fat content. Lipid classes and FA concentrations remained unchanged during testes maturation. However, concentrations of phosphatidyl choline (PL), triacylglycerol (NL), and some FA (16:0, 18:1n-9, and 22:6n-3) followed an “inverted U-shaped” relationship with the ovarian maturation. In both PL and NL, 22:6n-3 was the main polyunsaturated FA (>20% of total FA), while 20:5n-3 and 20:4n-6 were minor (3-6% of total FA) and varied little with maturation. 22:6n-3 and 18:1n-9 were selectively allocated to the ovarian maturation (increased in concentration and in proportion with maturation) until spawning. Finally, swordfish gonads might represent a good food source for humans given that 150 g of swordfish ovaries can cover the daily requirements in omega-3 for humans, but research on pollutants should also be conducted to evaluate their implications on the reproduction output of this species, and on the safety of swordfish gonads for human consumption.
