The copolymerization of ethylene and butadiene with a supported titanium catalyst (TiCl4/MgCl2/Et benzoate/Ph2SiCl2/AlEt3) was described. The resulting products were characterized by IR, 13C NMR, x-ray diffraction, differential thermal anal., electron microscopy, and solvent extraction The butadiene units were substantially in trans-1,4-configuration and blocked sequences.
