The flotation separation of LiTaO3 (I) from green carborundum (A) slicing dust was investigated. Only with surfactant were both I and A floated at any pH. Floatability of I was enhanced by HF with use of dodecylamine acetate at pH 2, whereas that of A was depressed by gum arabic. Application of this method to slicing dust containing 9.9% I gave 91.2% recovery of I with 70.8% purity in the froth.
